I'm looking for any info on a trail scooter made in the mid to late 60's called a "Hot Shot".

They had a Rockwell engine and use to cleaned up at the Trail Scooter races.

The only picture I have of one is attached. Do you have any information on these bikes ?

Sincerely, Don Edge

A purpose built race bike and was built in 1966 by the Wa-Cal company for Bearkat along with the Twister for competitive trail racing against the single jackshaft Tote Gotes and they did quite well. Powered by a 230CC Rockwell JLO two stroke engine making 14hp plus through a 500 series Salisbury clutch to a 10" driven unit. A snowmobile engine and clutch I was told but used in other off road vehicles. Original seat, grips, tires and everything including a very clean Hap Jones tank and fenders and the tube for carrying an extra plug is intact with a plug and the wrench is still wing nutted to the frame.  The clutch cover is fiberglass like the other examples but this one is maybe the only one with steel tank and fenders. So little is known about them it's tough to get info. It is said to be one of ten known to exist and the most complete untouched original of those ten. The engine is free and has crazy compression, the petcock was shut and a filter was in place so the carb may not be all gummed up but would certainly need a kit and diaphragm.
